🏳️‍🌈 LGBTQ+ Friendly Business - Female Sole Trader

Hey!👋

Thanks for stopping by and getting to know me. I’m Emily, a qualified horticulturalist, based in Cheltenham with five years of varied experience under my belt.

2021 sparked a year of change for me, and I decided to pursue a career in gardening. I initially volunteered at Sudeley Castle gardens but soon found a seasonal position at Cotswold Garden Flowers Nursery. To fill in the gaps, I trialled out some freelance gardening for a short period before landing a role at Reed Business School. While there, I soon became the resident apprentice gardener and studied my Level 2 Horticulture qualification at Pershore College. After nearly four years at Reed, I was keen to expand my horticultural knowledge, specifically in growing for the table, rather than for the borders. I started a role in the beautiful walled garden at the Abbotswood Estate as a Walled Gardener, and gained ‘barrows of knowledge while there.

Throughout my horticultural career, I’ve developed my skills and knowledge within well-manicured gardens and have carried out a variety of seasonal jobs such as:

  • Herbaceous and shrub border maintenance

  • Propagation

  • Hedgecutting

  • Annual lambing and livestock care

  • Lawn maintenance

  • Seasonal event preparations

  • Maintaining seasonal cut flowers and flower arranging for the property

  • Harvesting fruits and vegetables

  • Sustaining an organic approach, such as the no-dig method

Now, I apply the broad skill set I’ve gained through my horticultural career path and channel my passion for invigorating clients’ green spaces so they can relish their gardens year-round.
